Nestled within the grounds of the Wimmera Base Hospital in Horsham, our care community offers a warm and familiar environment that reflects the charm of a bygone era. Wimmera Nursing Home accommodates up to 50 residents, with a mix of 7 single rooms, 4 double rooms, and 3 shared bay rooms designed to suit a variety of needs and preferences. 

Our dedicated nursing and lifestyle teams work closely with residents and their families to provide personalised, person-centred care that supports wellbeing and enhances quality of life. We are committed to creating a supportive and homelike atmosphere where every resident feels valued and cared for.

Two spacious lounge dining areas provide a common area for meals and entertainment, with large televisions, pianos and stereos. Our relaxed setting with the kitchen areas allows for such things as the breakfast group and cooking in a friendly setting. 

Our gardens are secure and equipped with comfortable seating, with easy walking paths, raised gardens and BBQ facilities. Our spaces promote socialisation and provide space for family gatherings.  

As a resident, you are encouraged to personalise your space with soft furnishings, photographs and mementos.  

Your dietary needs and preferences will be catered for and reviewed as required by allied health specialists. Your input into the food provided is actively encouraged. 

A registered nurse always manages your care, and a range of allied health and other services can be provided to you at Wimmera Nursing Home. Our proximity to the Wimmera Base Hospital ensures your medical needs are met as required. 

Fee structure

Your spot at Wimmera Nursing Home can be paid for by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.  

A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

Aged Care Assessment

An Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) assessment is required prior to you moving in. We can assist you with this service. Referrals can be made by your GP, service provider, family member or carer; or you can self-refer to us.
