Nestled within the Queen Elizabeth Village in Wendouree, W.B. Messer is a thoughtfully designed 45-bed aged care community made up of four houses, each with its own welcoming living spaces that foster a sense of home.
You will enjoy a private single room, with a personal ensuite and large windows that frames peaceful garden views. Every house features its own kitchen, dining area, and lounge, creating intimate spaces for daily living. For larger gatherings, a spacious activities room and several smaller common areas are available for family visits and celebrations.
Located next to one of Ballarat’s major shopping centres, W.B. Messer offers direct pedestrian access, nearby public transport options including bus stops and Wendouree railway station, and ample visitor parking.

As a resident, you are encouraged to personalise your space with soft furnishings, photographs and mementos. All rooms have access to telephone lines and television antenna.
Our beds are electric and height adjustable. Sensor mats are provided as a safety measure for anyone who may need them. Bedside areas, bathrooms and lounge areas have access to the nurse call bell should assistance be required. External doors are fitted with electronic keypads.
The lounge rooms have a flat screen TVs and access to DVD players for resident use. Each of the 45 spacious bedrooms has a large window looking on to a garden area, private ensuites and some with built in cupboards.
There is a purpose built activities room suitable for large functions and a number of smaller common rooms in each house that are available for family functions or to gather on special occasions. The facility is located on a large well-manicured site with a peaceful rear garden area and easy access to private courtyards from each house.
A registered nurse manages your care at all times, and a range of allied health services can be provided including dietetics and speech pathology. You can also access a range of visiting services including your own GP, hairdressing and other services as required.
Fee structure
Your spot at W.B. Messer can be paid for by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.
A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

Aged Care Assessment
An Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) assessment is required prior to you moving in. We can assist you with this service. Referrals can be made by your GP, service provider, family member or carer; or you can self-refer to us.
